A MOVEMENT OF PRAISE
The purpose of the ministry is to share and praise the gospel of the Holy Trinity, through dance, to teach the disciplines of the dance ministry, and to guide those who have a desire to praise the Lord through the dance. The vision is to inspire every church to praise God through dance on a consistent basis and to make dance a part of daily worship service.
What is Dance Ministry?
Dance Ministry is simply the process by which we use the vehicle of dance to carry out the act of ministry (service) to encourage, comfort, and edify the saints in the faith. It is important to understand that dance in itself is not the ministry. Dance and ministry are two distinct factors. Dance is simply the vehicle in which ministry is presented.
ATTIRE
REHEARSALS
All Dance Ministry Members should wear sweat pants and short sleeved tee shirts to practice. White cotton socks may be worn during practices. The dance wear has to enable the dancer to express himself/herself in the best possible way.
MINISTRY PRESENTATIONS
Please see below for the new 2012 Dance Season CYT Uniform information. There will be a PayPal account set up for LifeWaterDance that you will be given the access information for individually. You will be able to make your payments toward your member's uniform through out the summer. I will be ordering uniforms the first week in September, so please have your payments made in full by October 19, 2012. Your access information will let me know who has paid into the account.
Additionally, each Dance Ministry is expected to have a NPMBC “Shine Tee-shirt” and blue or black jeans for presentations. Children, Youth and Teen Dance Ministry members should have a white leotard, white tights and 2 pair of “footies” (black and white).
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance is necessary to the progression of the dance ministries. Regular attendance allows for pieces to be prepared in a timely manner and rehearsed to execution standards of excellence. Ministry members who miss 3 rehearsals may not be eligible to minister at the next presentation opportunity. Each member will be subject to individual circumstances and allowances. The Dance Ministry Leader has the final say in these matters. Attendance will be taken at each rehearsal and presentation opportunity. Members who are not “feeling well”, but are not contagious, are encouraged to attend rehearsal and take written notes on the rehearsal. If a member is unable to attend a rehearsal, please contact the Attendance Committee Chairperson, or for presentation opportunities, please contact the Ministry Leader (see the contact me page on this blog) as soon as possible.
